I have a twinsticked Dana 300 in my buggy. When I got it disengaging the rear was really easy but there was a big vibration that I thought was coming from the t-case. We rebuilt it and also installed the pills so it couldn't be 2low and 2high at the same time. I notched the rails as should be. When I put it back in the vibration was still there, but the bad part is that its really tough to disengage the rear axle. I have to push on it really hard for a good distance whereas before it was really easy. The twinsick function is almost unusable. I'm going to pull it out and put a lowmax 4:1 kit in it and would like some advise on what I need to do so that it will shift easier like it used to be.

I dont know about the vibration, but my twin stick set up is hard to engage and disengage also. I have and automatic tranny in front of mine and I think there is a constant pressure from it which makes it hard to shift. I have to be rolling and shut down the motor so I can shift them.

hope this will help you. Sounds like something is not shimmed right.

Ditto (minus the pills)... the front is easy in either range (goes in/out on the fly), but near impossible to shift the rear control. I usually stop, put the tranny in Park and it'll fall in... :shaking:

Mine is tough to shift too, I think it's pretty common in D300's. If it's rolling at all when I shift it's a lot easier so I normally get going a few mph, put the tranny in neutral, and shift. I only need to move about a foot to do it so it's not too hard to work around.

mine is very easy to shift. I am running a t18 in front of mine though. Ive not been inside the case, it was a stock case i pulled out of an 85 cj7 and slapped some twinsticks on. I think its mostly to do with having a manual trans though.

I used all new internals and its smooth so maybe worn sliding gears or where the rear output and the input shaft index loose? is your shift linkage pulling up or down instead of straight in and out?
