Dana 60???

So I bought a dodge front dana 60 for my 83 chevy. But come to find out that there is about one inch difference between the old chevy perches and the dodge perches. What should I do?

You will most likely end up cutting the perches off and rewelding them on in the right location.

It's cast into the housing, he can't just cut and more that. But nothing some 1/4-3/8" plate can't solve.

Is this an older dodge 60 or a newer CAD 60?

If it is the older style, I didnt *think* the perches were cast?
Also, if it is older it is essentially junk, just tell me where it is and Ill move it out of your way...

www.ck5.com has a few writeups on the dodge to gm axle swap for dana 60. its more like 1/2 - 3/4 inch diffrence. not hard to do.

Take a hi-lift jack or porta power and spread the springs side to side until it fits.Sounds ghetto I know but I've seen more then one done that way and they have held up.
