My daughter crashed her 2000 XJ on the way to school this morning. Damage seems to be more cosmetic than anything. I'm gonna be removing the damaged stuff this weekend to see if how bad it is underneath. From what I can tell so far it's pretty much just crunched body panels. The hood is actually fine. I had just set it back down right before I took these photos. She pulled out in front of someone in school traffic and they clipped her in the front passenger corner.

I'd duct tape the heck out of it and let her drive it that way for a while(If it's safe to do so). Might be embarrassing enough for her to have to drive it like that for a while that
1. she will want to be more alert to what's going on around her.
2. Other drivers will go out of their way to stay clear of her because it is evident she isn't too experienced.

To be honest, I hate that they give kids a drivers license at such young ages. They don't have the experience to handle that much responsibility. She's actually a good and safe driver. She just really blew it this time around. She's been driving for about a year now with this being the first thing to happen.

Female drivers.. What can ya do?! Glad shes ok!

Yep, she's fine. Say's her neck is a little bit sore, but other than that she's good. She went on to school after they finished with the police. I don't think she got hit all that hard. There's damage to the car for sure, but it's not crazy bad. I got tools, I can fix it. :driver:

Man, that looks nasty.

I think some tons, 40s lotsa trimming and some lift is the only way it'll ever be driveable again :driver:

No, glad to hear no one's hurt. Hope the fender bender is a good wakeup call, we were all dumb teenagers once.

Yep I was for about 12 years ::beer:
Glad she is ok webb

Yep, she's all good. Thanks. I guess having a crash when you're a beginning driver is just one of those things. I wrecked my moms care the first time I took it out on my own. Wasn't my fault, but it still happened.

I'm heading over to Carolina U-Pull-It this morning to see what I can find for parts. I made a lot of progress yesterday in getting things straightened out.

Webb, Sorry to hear of the accident. I thought Sarah's jeep was white. Glad she is ok. I saw her at the Clover game Friday night and she seamed fine. Let me know if you need some help.

I have to say that it happens. When I was in college a buddy was sitting in his cj-7 talking to me in my jeep. He saw a hot chick as we were leaving and was trying to impress her. He hit a Saturn car. His winch bumper completly ripped open the passanger door. Kinda funny, all I could think to say is "They really do have side impacted protection".

Don't be doggin the female drivers!!! I know more guys that have had crashes than women!!

Young male drivers: dangerous because they like to show off and take chances they don't have the skill to back up.

Young female drivers: dangerous because they're paying attention to everything except driving.

Rich "an equal opportunity offender" Q.

Haha, that's about right.

Having fix many of these wrecked that one is going to be very hard to fix. that is a unibody and all of interstucture will have to be cut out and replaced

Great for parts

I've almost got it all fixed already. It actually wasn't that bad underneath. I've already got replacement body parts ready to paint and bolt back in place. When I was checking them for fit, everything lines up pretty good. If she was hit 10" further back, it would be a whole different story.

LOL, I've had so many people say that same exact thing. I think the mismatched color of the body panels would bother me a lot more than my daughter. When I fix something, I have to fix it to the best of my abilities. Guess I'm just funny when it comes to stuff like that.

whoa horsey, I wouldn't be paintin' that thing yet..........ya never know what'll happen, again..................give it at least another year before ya fix it perfect. my 2 cents
