My brother in laws '97 PSD died, it needs a new cam and to him its not worth the cost to fix it (the body is beat all to hell). I am a little interested in it for parts for my truck. He wants to know a good price to sell it for and I have no idea what to tell him, it is 4x4, long bed, extended cab.

In all the time i've been a tech working on Powerstrokes i've never seen one wipe out a cam. How many miles are on it? I have rebuilt several 7.3's with 400,000 or more on them and didnt even need to touch the cam. Only thing I can think of is bad oil quality. If you could put up some pics I might beable to find a buyer.
 
well he said he has it on craigslist for $1500 and has gotten a few calls on it. It is still at the shop we take our diesels to here in Raleigh, im pretty sure it is all back together now. It has 230,xxx? miles on it. He runs it on SVO and sometimes doens't let it purge all the way so the grease gets cold inside the motor.

Ill inform him of the longblock and see if he has any interest.
