Anybody had one of these in there Dana 30 front, just curious how good the limited slip is, as far as hill climbs, rocks and what not? thanks!!!

Aren't they just Torsen diffs? That's what's in the back of the Dodge, and it's very nice. Probably not much use once a tire is in the air (w/o a little brake action), but good otherwise.

Yeah that was I was thinking, just not looking to go full Monte in the front of the Dana 30 yet for fear of explosion during race use

I had one in the rear of my Yota for awhile. I really liked it, only got rid of it b/c I moved up gears and went e-locker at the same time.
Pretty cool that you can effectively make it locked by applying the brakes. If I found a

not sure if that'd be a problem braking around a corner though?

I had one in rear of my jeep and loved it. As long as I kept my foot on the gas it stayed locked. I got rid of it because I decided to get rid of the full width axles and make it a little smaller.

CBC had one in the front of his ranger in a dana 44 and it didnt do so well rock crawling mostly. It would stop pulling right as it need to the most. But i get put one in the back of my grand cherokee been in there less then 24 hours.

Is there a difference between a Detroit and a Detroit true trac?

I loved mine. Worked great on the road and didn't kill tires. On the trail it did good and a blast in the snow.

The tru trac is a gear based torque biasing (no clutches) differential similar in principal to the Gleason Torson (now owned by Toyoda Machine Works) but not in design.
It is available in different bias configurations depending on application.
