Just installed detriot easy locker in my 10 bolt and fist hour out on the trail i blew it up. Running 37" tires and hydraulic assist along with 5.13 gears. What should I do? Install replaced locker thinking it was just a bad part, or weld the front. Will a detrioit easy locker with stand in my set up?

The easy locker casing right where the pins and springs go split wide open. I think I will reinstall new one with complete set up of gears. Make it right.

did you check tolerances after install? Next i would ditch teh ez-locker in favor of an Aussie or Lock right. Heard many more complaints about the detroit ezlocker.

Hell if you are going to install new gears, just buy a full Detroit and never worry about it blowing up again!!! Or, just put the spiders back in and weld that baby up. You already have hydro assist, you shouldn't have any problems turning those 37's.

I was going to go aussie but they don't make for 10 bolt. My thoughts is reset up the front with the new detriot easy locker and if it fails again put spiders in and weld the hell out of it. Any thoughts on this plan? Or should I sell the locker and just weld it. Down fall of full detriot to much money and it's only a 10 bolt.

Go lock right if you have to buy another one. I mean why replace one that broke the first trip out with the same part if you have to pay again.

37s locked with V8 power (I assume) on 10-bolts? Good luck with that, you're going to blow more than the EZLockers.

EZ tonto...

Some 10 bolts do quite well....for a while.

Of course there is a 60 in a shop getting built for when....

Being that your considering welding it and Im sure you know the end results of that, why not go full spool? Cheaper than ez, aussie etc and stronger than welded IMO.

You have to give some 10 bolts some cred. On a light vehicle they work fine (comparatively a tad bit stronger than a D44 because of the thicker gears), they just break because they're usually under a 5,500 lb chevy with a 350 and 35s.
