Is there a way to convert a dirtbike to make it road legal? I know I would have to get some lights and turn signals but what about getting it tagged? has anyone done this?

Thanks Ben

It can be done but everyone I know had to get it titled in A diffrent state, I have A freind that has A drz that is legal, I know it came from florida but I can check and see what he knows. Also you might want to check at your local shop someone might know something.

I think it's possible....

I've heard it's a PIA. But don't take my word for it, find somebody who has done it.

If I were you, I'd sell the dirtbike and buy a dual sport. That way there won't be any issues at DMV.

no, not gonna happen. for it to be registered and get a plate, it had to have come with the frame stamped tag saying it was built to be street legal, and you've got to have all the paperwork from the place of purchase. Pretty much, if it wasn't built to be street legal and have a title, it's not gonna happen. Been through this a few times. just buy a true dual sport bike.

its a pain in the ass. the basic problem is the MSO. you need one not stamped "offroad only" pretty much all the jap bikes are stamed as such. i know, ive got one in the basement:shaking:

easiest thing to do is buy a KTM , MSO is not stamped. take the mso to the tag office, they'll convert it to a tittle, and issue you a tag. then you've got to get the light figured out...
rear brake running light. hi/low front. either ALL or NONE turn signals.
my was prettyeasy! riding a dirt bike with a tag is crazy fun!
