FX has dropped there programing with dish because they cant come to an agreement on a contract and missed Sons of Anarchy and will miss The league on thurs due to this bull:poop:!!! Anybody else rather ticked about this!

Yeah I had an email thing from dish about this three weeks ago. Two ep's into the new SOA season and I'm watching it on my effn computer.

I've been out of my second contract for 10 months, haven't switched cause dish got a new HD dvr with 1080p and more hard drive space. Was going to get it then they tell me it's a 250$ "equipment" fee lol. I was prepared for a new 18 month contact but they won't wave anything off the new box. Called several times and asked if 100 off 250 plus the monthly fee and taxes (155$ per month x 12) were worth loosing a five year customer. Nothing...

Will be checking out direct and building my own dvr now.

I love directv and u can have my account number so u and I both get a $100 credit! When u sign up!

i actually just switched to dish last week, and have been on their ass because in the starting negotiations i gave them a list, fx being 1 of them, and then later found out this too.

Is it completely gone now or are they still negotiating with fox? (atleast thats what they keep telling me)

I am Dish Network customer.

Would you rather they agree to the ungodly amount that Fox is asking and raise the rates across the board? I think its good that there fighting it, they requested that Fox allow the programming to stay while the negotiation was continuing. Fox Network is playing hard ball and pulling the programming, its not dish network. Fox signed a huge sports rights deal and is attempting to fund it.

FOX BLOCKS REGIONAL SPORTS CHANNELS FROM DISH NETWORK VIEWERS
Programmer Seeks to Shake Down DISH Network and its Customers with Massive Rate Increase
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - (NASDAQ: DISH) - Oct. 1, 2010 - DISH Network L.L.C. reports today that FOX Networks is blocking DISH Network's access to 19 FOX Regional Sports Networks and other programming. FOX is demanding a new contract with an unprecedented rate increase of more than 50 percent. FOX's removal of the channels follows the programmer's national TV, print and web advertising campaign designed to intimidate DISH Network and its customers into paying the rate increase. FOX has flatly refused DISH Network's request to allow customers to continue to watch these FOX channels during the negotiations.

These negotiations with FOX do not affect local FOX TV stations, FOX News or FOX Business News.

"DISH Network is not going to allow FOX or any programmer to bully our customers into paying such an unconscionable price increase," said Dave Shull, senior vice president of Programming for DISH Network. "FOX has a long history of trying to shake down pay TV providers, including Cablevision, Time Warner, and Bright House."

Shull continued, "Our customers should not be held hostage in order to finance FOX's irresponsible acquisition of sports rights. Consumers are already burdened enough in this challenging economy."

DISH Network will continue to negotiate in good faith for a fair deal with FOX to help restore the sports programming and prevent outrageous rate increases in this challenging economic environment. In the meantime, during the FOX lockout, DISH Network will make the following channels available to all affected customers at no additional charge: HD Net Movies, HD Theater, NBA TV, New England Sports Network, NFL Network, NHL Network, Altitude Sports, Big Ten Network, Comcast SportsNet California, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, Comcast Sports Network Mid-Atlantic, Comcast Sports New England, ESPN Classic, FOX Sports Northwest, FOX Sports Pittsburgh, FOX Sports Rocky Mountain, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network2, SportsNet New York, and SportsTime Ohio.

DISH Network has created a series of websites to help inform consumers about the nature of this dispute:

www.WeOfferedFoxAFairDeal.com,

www.FoxRefused.com,

www.HowMuchMoreCanWeTake.com,

Yeah, it's not your provider's fault at all, it's the network's. They're the ones wanting more money and yanking programming until they get it. If the provider caves and pays Fox or ESPN or whoever the higher price, they pass that savings on to you... who complains about how Dish or TWC or DirecTV is bending you over.

If you want to be pissed at somebody, be pissed at Fox.

Something else to think about:

That show that you pay Dish $115/mo to watch? You're now watching for free on your computer. Plug your computer up to your teevee. Problem solved.

why complain about the prices. just pay them and be glad you have something to watch.

Hey don't forget - you're also losing It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia. Good, quality, family TV right there...

People enjoy different things, I enjoy watching Foot Ball on Sunday, If you have no interest in that, why take the time to respond, just to put it down?

I was just saying.. if you like those things then you may have to pay or switch provider to get it..

I like 4 wheeling and I pay a lot for it :)

Does anyone else find it funny that the Dish Network banner is showing at the bottom of the Dish Network sucks thread...I do.

^^^ I get fedex.com/print. Would be quite ironic to see Dish Network banner tho. :D Btw, I purposely allow ads on nc4x4.com through adblock plus. Shawn should be so proud! hehe

Honestly, I grow weary of all the television providers. I can't wait to pay for an internet subscription service that allows me to pick and choose the networks I want or choose from a preselected grouping. Majority of the things I watch are streamed from my linux box to the PS3. However, I still pay for TWC for sheer DVR convenience. One of these days I plan to hook a PC straight to the TV without using DLNA. Just a matter of building a good looking home theater PC. Seems easy enough, but that means I'd need to talk 2-3 months off from wheeling in order to afford it. I've got priorities ya know!

you can watch any of those shows on the internet, Um, maybe, oh I don't know maybe-----> HULU?

IMO, hulu isn't a suitable option. Majority of their shows don't appear until 2-4 weeks after the original air date. Also, the quality seems sub-par on many of the shows I watch. I do stream hulu through playon, but even when playing on the PC the quality isn't where I want it to be. It's even worse when displayed on a 55" TV.

However, there are higher quality options available on the internet, though obtaining them is more troublesome. Which is why I can't wait for a internet based subscription service where I can watch the networks live.

Hey don't forget - you're also losing It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia. Good, quality, family TV right there...
I really like that show and watch it along with SOA weekly..Sucks that they yanked the channels...Some Acc games gone..DW, Border wars etc..Also Fox 8 will be gone Nov 1st.

They can have natgeo..even the acc channels...just give me FX back

Looks to me like directed advertising works...

This ad is Fox's rebuttal.

When I lived on my own I didn't have cable, but I had internet. I was rarely around to watch TV anyway, but I would come home and watch whatever shows I felt like watching on the internet, and whenever I wanted to watch the game I would either go to a buddies or meet some friends at a local sports bar. Currently back at home and my folks have cable, so I am enjoying it for the time being.

I beleive Disney and ESPN are currently threatening TWC with a similar deal though...

We recently switched to Directv from Dish - Got 2 HD DVR's and 1 HD receiver.. The whole-home DVR is sweet - we use it a whole lot more than I originally thought.. I am sure with a future firmware upgrade, you'll be able to schedule things to another DVR from a DVR. (Right now you can only do that from the web or a Non-DVR)

Also, picture quality is better on DTV, both SD and HD, and finally, the hardware (the Hx24 series) is as fast as Dish's.

Speaking of SoA, the wife wants me to go as Clay for Halloween..

hulu wont carry full episodes of fox programs, looked yesterday. hulu was a good concept much like google was in the begining... now hulu "offers" clips... big deal. its both sides fault to me. its greed, like they dont make enough money. but hey no biggie, thats why i havent paid to watch a movie in three years. thats why i dont pay for music. im not going to shell out 20 or 30 bucks on an hour and a half movie with 10 good min in it. if greed is good and greed is right (lol) then onilne is good and online is free ;)

im not going to post where i watch my movies and other tv programs but if someone wants the links ill share them no prob.
not the best quality in the world but its a website away and most of the places are membership free, etc.

watched ep 5 of soa this morn before work.

and to whoevery posted the "its always sunny..." - yes sir. good clean family entertainment lol.

I watch most of my online TV here:

http://tvduck.com

Can search for the show you want, some shows the episodes don't work, some links are better than others, and megavideo has a timer.
