get thornbirds

All ways wanted some for the jeep.

need tires for my truck(sees alot more street then anyhing) found a cheap set of 33" thornturds and figured why not. I should be kicked in the balls. Read all the threads and negative ratings on them.

Havent seen what they do off road but there is no way it can be amazing enough to offset the crappy on road performance.

So here is another thread to detur(sp?) ppl from gettin them.

I'll slam my dick in a door before gettin another set(free or otherwise)

On another note i found something rather amusing while under my truck today that I missed while lookin it over before I bought it.

There are zip ties on one of the leafsprings. I guess it was to keep the bottom short leaf from moving side to side??? :shaking:

Guess I need to go over it real good and see if there are anymore um... ghetto fab work done.

ThornTurds suck off road too man, i never had them but my buddy ran them for one week on his jeep and got rid of them, they dont clean out mud worth a sh*t and the side lugs is all the grabs but you gotta be in a rut for that to work. i think they should be discontinued by Interco and not be DOT approved, they aint even safe on pavement....
is there even anyone who has anything good to say about them???

I think I would take a free set before I slammed my dick in a door. That being said I wouldn't put them on my jeep.

Is this not common knowledge? Welcome to earth. :flipoff2:

but.........

I'm not slamming my junk in anything.

LOL

Wait til you learn that their best quality is actually their on road performance.

I had a CJ5 years ago on thornturds that actually ran decent and ddidnt track on the road...but just gummed up off road...

Read all the threads and negative ratings on them.

So, um - did you not read all of those yourself first?

whenevrr I see them on a truck I assume the owner is either (a) obstinate or (b) illiterate.

They are the best at on thing..... They make a great roaring noise going down the road!!!

yet another thread that will be ignored but the stupendously crazy people who refuse to head others advice as they buy then sell their thorn birds to the next person who has to have them, good news is there seems to be an endless market for them..

those videos dont make sense why go through all the trouble to SAS an s-10 which isnt easy then put :poop: on it for tires??

Maybe its a jeep thing that they suck:shaking:. A friend of mine dont have a problem with his. He airs is down to about 10-15psi to get the side walls to bite.

I love that truck.....but those tires aren't good enough to hold flowers in m front yard. Period. I hate to say, but the video's don't show much in the way of good traction. It's common knowledge they don't clean out mud from the tread, and slick up like drag tires. On road, they are worse.

He pretty much can make them work. With the d44's he got on it, he swaps tires from this rig to the other 2 lifted Full size chevy's he has. I think he might have paid 250 for the whole set and they were like 90% tread. He's got 35" claws and some other brand of 35's too.

my opinion i dislike them. You can get stuck on wet grass with um, heck for that matter, just buy some oversized street radial's.... When spending money on tires i would never nor have i ever considered these.

I thought all Thornbirds came with a grooving tool so you could make a real set of tires. I guess they forgot to give him his.

in my defense, i had no prior knowledge of them when i bought'em. but neither did the hs kid who bought them from me

im still working my first set of used thornbirds. couldnt beat the price he offered. and yes i agree they need to be grooved in the middle lugs. i dont mud period so as long as they stick to a rock i am pleased. just air down and ride

and dylan was right, i was at the beach with em and they did super in thick sand

and if you cant get a little bit of traction with an interco tire.....quit wheeling

yeah, maybe another form of punishment for bein a dumb:poop:

and my luck i'd take them and be stuck with them

does he need a new set? :fuck-you:

does he need a new set? :fuck-you:

yup

he's a hs kid who works for my dad and he wore those things out quick. he loved them tho, they did exactly what he wanted them to do, cover the side of his truck in clay.

I think y'all have failed to mention another excellent feature of the Thornbird, they work outstanding at destroying sealed bearings on Chevy's.Two of my buddy's Ran them on their Chevy's and both of them had front wheel bearing failures during the short time they owned them.Wouldn't run em on any of my Jeep's:Rockon:
