i have no experiance with one, other than riding in one. But i do like the way they look with a little lift and some bigger tires. The only thing that keeps me from getting one, is no diesel or big block option.
If your ram is a gasser and your looking at buying a newish tundra then your probably only making a small step in improvement for towing. Obviously newer trucks are more advanced than older truck so technically they should do more things better than older trucks. As for ram to yota stuff goes the ram will typically have better low end torque than a yota motor. The yota may publish higher horsepower numbers than your current ram but you need to look at where the power is at in the rpm range. most motors make peak horsepower at higher rpm and a yota will spin faster than a mopar, which is worthless power because you'll rarely keep your rpm up that high. The mopar will make peek power lower in the rpm range and peak torque will be lower in the rpm range which is much more usable while towing. I would think that the same year ram would out tow the same year yota. Other than motors they each have their issues and good points. I don't usually see to many yota's worked hard but I see plenty of gasser rams towing big loads. If your ram is a diesel your taking a huge step backwards to go to a yota.
From a Toyota fanatic... dont. Toyota rows that for the class but the power band difference makes it seem like it's struggling compared to a comparable domestic.
