Door Swap

Hi. I looked through about 4-5 pages in this Newbie Tech, but didnt find a previous thread.

I have a YJ jeep wrangler (the one with square lights) with a soft top.

I want to have the full metal doors like on the newer Jeeps. Can they be swapped?

Any info on this will be helpful. Thank you.

You can find full steel doors for the YJ. If I remember correctly (IIRC) the YJ and CJ7/8 used the same doors, but the TJ has different doors.

Where would I look for full doors? Im relatively new to the Jeep World. I have had the Jeep for some time, but I've never modified anything.

IIRC = If I Remember Correctly.

For the doors, you might want to check www.quadratec.com or possibly www.4wdh.com

Both of these sites carry a fairly good range of Jeep parts.

So i can buy replacement full doors for a CJ style jeep and they will fit my jeep. I just want to make sure, so I dont spend all that money.

Hard doors will not fit on some soft tops. You may have to change the top also.

You can't use full steel doors with a factory soft top. The frame on a fact. soft top is squared off around the top the door openings. The full steel doors have a curve to them. You can use the full doors with a Bestop soft top.
