I am doing removable doors on my Grand Cherokee. I was curious about the laws on driving on-road without doors. If I need side mirrors to drive on-road without doors I was wondering if anyone had any advice on mounting them.

Thanks

Doors are not required. For safety reasons, tube doors are a good idea though.
However, mirrors are. Driver's is always required. I believethe rule for the pass. side is that "if it came with one, it must have one, otherwise optional".
AKA, you will need mirrors.

The law states that you must have at least a side view mirror. However, you live in NC. Chances are good that you will never get hassled if you don't. Probably not even when you go in for inspection. However, for safety's sake, I'd at least mount one on the DS.

I mounted mine on the A pillar after I did tube doors.

I have been through license checks and talked to many cops. They don't care about the doors or mirrors. Most of the ones that I have talked to said that thought it was pretty cool. You could go to a bone yard and get some mirrors from an old van or something and mount them on you fender. 85runner's idea is pretty neat also.
