double spline vs regular

From a manufacturing point of view, you can machine a shaft out of a MUCH smaller billet. This can make a big difference when looking at expensive metals (such as 300m).

That said, If that cost drop is not transferred down to the consumer level(resulting in cheaper shafts), I see no reason to do it other than the bling factor.

there is a big strength difference. But mostly do to material quality and heat treat quality. Your double spline shafts are going to be american made where your bolt in shafts will be foreign. then there is an additional strength difference btwn 4340 and 300m. bolt in shafts are from forgings and double splined are from billet. Basically I would buy the bolt in shafts with a warranty and if you have problems just upgrade to double spline. most of the double splined sets we have sold are tot he hardcore of the hardcore but they just break ring and pinions instead shafts are easier to replace.
