Double Torque 2XT Auxillary Trans?

Long time member here. I don't post often, but I thought one of you fellers might have some knowledge on auxillary transmissions/gear splitters. I picked one up for my square body dually (in order to add overdrive and keep the sm465). The Eaton switch on the side isn't working and I'm just wondering if it is worth the effort to clean everything up and install it (rebuild/replace switch motor, find switch for gear shift, remove trans, shorten driveshaft, replace shifter handle, etc...) or if I should just re-sell it and use the funds to purchase a transmission with overdrive. Were they also know as a brownie box? I've hear of those before but never had any experience but they don't the same thing best I remember

@Caver Dave Thanks for the link. That guy does seem to be a big fan...kind of makes me want to install it and see what happens.

@brnagn Brnagn, I have stumbled upon a this thread you posted at the beginning of this year. I see the 2xt Aux trans you were putting in your square body dually... I am curious, is that unit installed? if not, would you be willing to part with it? I have a square body dually project of my own and I have scoured the earth for a unit like this. Advance Adapters no longer make even the updated aluminum versions of these and no aftermarket companies have one available for sale with GM inputs/outputs. I would be willing to pay a pretty premium price for it. Please let me know and I can give you more specific contact details. Thanks for your consideration. -ZM
