Doubler between a TH400/NP205 round pattern

I want to put a doubler between the later model TH400/NP205 combo with the round pattern.
Has anybody here done it?

I'm leaning towards a planetary set up vs. a 203 for a few reasons...
- four ranges vs three
- weight
- ground clearance
- a round pattern 203 does not exist (but I think it can be re-drilled)
- I would need to find a 32 spline 203
- I would need to change my 205 input shaft to the "short" style

-Considering all this, the cost of the 203 doubler might exceed $1000. I might as well just buy a NWF Black Box.

Or... I could try a 241/205 doubler. The more I research the 241 option, the more confused I get.

Since my 205 has a "long" input shaft...
- Will I need a different adapter between the TH400 and 241?
- How do I bolt up my 205 to the 241?
- Will the 205 shift rods clear so I won't need a rear shift mod?

Also, what vehicles would have a 32 spline 241?

And finally, why hasn't anybody done this with the NP208? TH400/NP 208's are cheap and plentiful.

Will somebody PLEASE sell me a doubler!!!
Northwest Fab and D.D. Machine won't answer their phone.

Finally got through to NWF. They are very helpful.

Answered my questions on the 203... use a 208 adapter and re-drill the front of the 203 for the round pattern. The round pattern 205 will bolt up to their adapter but the long input needs to be changed to the short style.

Their Black Box will bolt right up, but there again I need to change to the short input on the 205.

So... anybody have a used 32 spline short input for my 205?

I'll keep trying to contact DD, but I'm kinda discouraged about having to run the 205 shift rod out of the back of the case.

I'm the only one(that I know of) doin a 241/205 so maybe I can help. What all are you confused about??? You just have to keep callin D&D you'll finally get thru.Something to remember they are on pacific time,so if you call at 9am our time aint nobody gonna be home.

I almost scored a good deal on a Klune but I let it get away from me. I was leaning towards NWF because it is cheaper and claimed to be better. When I talked to them yesterday he said deliver is days not weeks.

1-ton,
Your write up on that 241 doubler is awesome. I have referred to it a bunch. I just wish there was a way to avoid having to run the shift rod out the back.

I was goin for the black box myself, but the 241 uses the same planetary set that the BB is built around and it's a whole lot cheaper. You could possibly notch the 214 to clear the rail but it would require more welding.
I am waitng on my twin sticks to get here and then hopefully I can get it together before the Harlan ride.
