DPG-22 Oct

39" Krawlers was the difference and being light weight probably helped too. I hate to sound like a spokesperson for BFG, but I have never used a tire that even came close to having the traction the red label krawlers have. With my swampers I had never made that line.

I think its the Krawlers too. Greg seems to be a great driver but those things are unbelievable. I need some bad. Greg's buggy does make stuff look easy untill you other rigs struggling. Can't believe you sold that thing. Can't wait to see whats next.

Now now now...let's not talk negative about the shwampers...i made both the left and the right line crawling on these...never touched the gas...

edit: but I'll still see ya this weekend for those Krawlers... :smokin:

Who else has made this climb and what's your wheelbase? Crawl it or gas it?...
I was in my 110"ish Toy truggy...crawled it to the left by the tree and to the right...with bald ass SX's

This is the only other person I've seen make it in person...

Who else?

I havent tried it yet but the next ride Im going to give er a shot.......I believe its gonna be a full throttle event for me as I am the lowest buggy around and my belly is gonna drag the whole time.....I know theres alot to be said about the Krawlers but I still say theres alot of driver involvement in this obstacle....

Just from what I have seen, I think total vehicle weight is a huge factor on vertical climbs like that. I also think percent weight on front is a big factor. I think wheelbase is also critical and can help offset a heavy total weight. I would swear I saw Geoff make it when I was down there a few months ago and he is 131" and probably about 5,000 lbs. Hey, what do I know though, I am just a web wheeler who works too much to finish his truck.

Will, what do you estimate your Toyota truggy weighs as is with the yota axles?

Haven't weighed it...buddy Kregg's truck is pretty much the same tube and body wise...he has full widths 44/14 ad his was 4300 when we took it to the landfill scales...I figure mines 3800 if I'm lucky (lucky being light)...then again...that's shootin' in the dark...well...dim anyway...
