Drill Press Arbor, Keyless or Not?

For a drill press IMO keye chuck is the only way to go.
This is a tool that (1) doesn't move, and is easy to keep a key with and (2) has a high likelihood of someday somebody putting something serious in it.

Hang the key on a chain attached to the press so it can't walk away. Bright yellow tape all over it so you can find it.

I'm in the Key chuck camp. My keyless chucks always loosen up, doesn't matter who makes the drill. The drill press stays tight.

I got an albrecht keyless chuck with my mill and it made me never want another keyd chuck. I think we have a Jacob’s keyless at work, it’s gotten locked up a time or two and had to be broken loose with a large pair of channel locks. They both seem to hold bits great even larger diameter.

Keyless for hand tools keyed for things with belts and gears.

There’s a difference between a cheapo keyless and a good one like an Albrecht. Or course they can have problems too, but man they are so nice to use 99.99% of the time.
