Might need to be in Newbie, but I don't post there.:flipoff2:

I have seen driveshafts installed both ways. With the smaller slip end towards the tcase, and with it towards the axle. Is one more correct than the other?

Any reason one would work better?

I like the slip down by the axle.. The spline is typically solid steel, and stands up to abuse fairly well.

Only time I'd use a slip at the top would be on a front shaft where you have to clear a tranny pan or something similar.

I historically have run the slip on my front DS up by the TC, but just swapped ends last week....

Mainly, because the TSM shows it down by the chunk & because I felt that if it broke/seperated, the longer section *might* have a harder time beating the crap outta my tranny (more stuff to contact, where the stub is there just to flail wildly)
