Here is the deal. I have an 83 Sub with 700R4, 208 transfercase and 3 inch lift. Drove the truck this morning and noticed a squeaking sound as I first accelerate from a stop. It does not last long but seems like it might be getting worse. I plan to take a look at it later today but wanted to gather some ideas before I do.

My first thought was U-joints but want to know of any other possibilities.

the best way to diag a driveline problem is to get in on a lift or or stand's then run in up to the speed u hear the noise u should be able to pin point it but be careful if ur not using a lift to do this

When my u-joints went out on my truck it squeeked like hell.
Put it on jackstands and ran it, found out it was the u-joints. After intalling $300 of front wheel hubs! Thats just my experience.
Do the joints they are cheap enough as long as you dont require some really expensive ones.

You can get them at Oliver driveshaft or I got some Spicers if you need
