Maybe I'm just old and cranky but these days my tolerance for stupid is really low.
My truck, '22 F350 Dually, was due for an inspection yesterday. Stopped by a Jiffy Lube to get it done. Lady comes out and asks what service I needed, I replied an inspection, she looks at my truck and I immediately received a deer in the headlights look followed by some gibberish. She quickly disappears and comes back with a very intelligent looking fellow, the manager. He starts to open my door without saying a word, WTF are you doing, "I need to know how much it weighs". I replied 8900lbs, he says no way and proceeds to open the door to look at the VIN plate. "See right there it says 14k lbs so I can't inspect it because my lift is only rated to 12k lbs" and starts to walk off. I said it's a class 3 truck and that's the GVWR and not the curb weight, deer in the headlights look from him. Do you know the difference?....He just walked away as I very loudly called him a dumbass.
I drove 5min down the street to another inspection station and was in and out in 10min.
