E-Locker

I have a 88 4 runner and I want a E-locker and this is my daily driver. I was told they don't hold up good for a daily driver. Was the guy feeding me a .. I am on a limited budget and want to put one in the back. It will be a 50/50 on road off road rig...

the guy you talked to is a moron. E-lockers came in thousands of tacomas and 4runner, as well as landcruisers stock. they are just as reliable as any other 8" differential

X3, someone if feeding you a line of bullshit. Probaly stronger than the 8" 4cly third as 95% of them were v6 ones with the larger pinion bearings.

I just regeared one to 5.29s and installed in my 85 front axle! That thing is awesome!

don't wanna steal a thread here, but anyone wanna build me a harness and connectors to sire mine up? Im not so good with wiring...

you can buy the harness from marlincrawler.com and buy the ecu and button from ebay. It makes a clean, factory style installation that is easy to do yourself
