Ford e450 RV 10 year plan

Got a couple of thing done
Head Studs - Retorque the head bolts, all is good.
Radiator Cap - put a new radiator cap on it.
- The previous people had removing the gasket so it would not building pressure. Was a Ford 6.0l so......
- That led me to check the head bolts rather the start with the simple things FIRST !!
Vent - Put in a mini size 10" vent in the roof
[I wanted to add, i am limited on roof space due to solar panels on the roof.
i finally found this model, a 10", it barley fit, but it did fit.....]

.
Refrigerator - I made a slide out drawer for it. Now it slides, yay!!!
To do that i had a take out a 2x4 and insert some plywood, now i have platy of room..

Luckily everything just fit and i had room for a front hitch.
Worth it IMHO... So easy for manover trailers and you can put a basket up there, bikes, motorcycle etc....

Glad to see it getting used!

Thanks guy!
.
Hot water tank !
Made my own !!!
1 gallon
2x 300 Heater mats
24v work off the main system [not tied to anything else]
.
I did not like the ones you bought, for several reasons
To big at ~5 gallon size,
Won't fit
The heating element , always burn out.
To much $$$
.
So i make my own....
1 Gal Stainless Steel tank
Wrapped in 600 watts of heating elements
Temperature control via 24v greenhouse control
If it gets hot, due to no water in it.... oh well, it turns off earlier
[obvious not my plan but it does happen a lot]
1" of insulation (thank Chip from way back when...:) ) and a cover i sew up.
$150

Welp i had to remove the blue cotton insulation stuff.
It was smoking a tiny bit :)
More so when i crank the heat up on the heater up to like 160 degrees.
I'd like to get the temp. to the point to where you can 'almost' burn yourself,
(If you leave your hand in there,on just HOT)
...anyway...
I got some insulation stuff that good for 3000 degrees,
The advertisement show a flame not catching it on fire..good enough for me.... :flipoff2:
(ceramic) not asbestos but ummm the other stuff.... (shit... )
Seriously i could use fiberglass stuff but the was super cheep on Anomzs
I relined the tank and put back in the RV

Decided to install a valve kit so I could keep my rear tires easily inflated.
After saving the rear end from disaster, I finely opted to do this.
I do not fault the guy(s) who installed the tires but I learned a lesson,
ugh check everything !
This one time.... :D
the needle valve was barely in there, I limped to the campsite and fix that.
another time, the whole valve stem was barley hanging in there, only 5 turns fix that.....

I made a kayak holder, to help transport these things
2 of them...
I used 2" x .120 tubing because that's what i had :flipoff2:
minus the insert which is .25 wall.
I still need to get a pulley system to raise / lower it.
(but for now I can manually raise it)
Off to camping !!
