I am wanting to put D60 front full-width. What should I put in the rear? I would just beef up Ford 9" but I want 8-lug and I heard the conversion is too costly. So, my other choices are: D60, D70. 14 bolt or Sterling? What have you found to work best and more bang for the buck?

70s Bronco, 302, C4, 5.5 lift wanting to run 38s.

i am doing the same swap.i am going 60 up front,10.25 in the rear.i just can't put a chevy rear in my bronco.nothing against chevy just can't do it.

That's what I thought about Ford parts. Then I came to the conclusion that as long as I have a Chevy engine, I can't complain about other American parts. :)

14B, D70, etc are what, $150-200? If you get lucky you will find one with the right gears, otherwise add $250ish + install (maybe add some for lincoln locker or spool or detroit)

Prob cannot spend "that little" on the 9" and get your 8 bolt? I could be wrong though...but the 9" is a beefy axle too.

I know when I order my Mosers for my 9" they asked me what lug pattern I wanted. I assume they could do 8 lug, then you just have to redo your brakes.. disk brakes :) Im not sure what would be cheaper?

IMO, a built 9" is plenty strong enough. But you do have to dump money into it though to get it there. In my case I'm stikin w/ the 9" just to be able to run a true Hi9 diff to alleviate driveline angles in my 77EB. If I were to go 1 ton though, it'd be a sterling. SB

I can't wait to try mine out... I have a 9" w/ the True Hi9, ARB, 35 spline Mosers & disk brakes. :bling:

Do you have one with 8 lug pattern? I had looked and no one made or would make a flange for a 9" big enough for the 8 lug pattern.

Noone makes SF 8 lug 9" shafts. You can of course convert the 9" to ff and use whatever hubs you want. I would personally probably go 70, but a 60 will work with 38's.
