Looks like a new park is opening in Johnson City. Anyone have anny info on it?

About the same distance for me as GER, Wondering how active the place is though, the FB Page has been around since pre-covid, and doesn't have a lot of activity...

New park, they’re still cutting trails and the November ride day is kind of a soft open. Lack of parking /camping space seems to be a limiting factory. I have to go through JC twice this week and might try to swing by if they’re working. It’s about 15 minutes closer than GER for me so it will be nice to have another place within day trip distance if you’re feeling froggy.

There is a March 4th post that I believe is referencing this ride.

That flier was posted in several groups on Facebook the last day or two. In one of them there was a lot of feedback about the $60 per person so it has been cut to $35 a person last I saw.

Honestly if that’s the price they need to stay open it’s a bargain vs driving another hour or 2 to go somewhere else. People would drive 10 miles across town to save 5 cents on gas kind of logic

That’s all in where you live. Some will live closer and some further. Not their problem, but they gotta maintain affordability. It’s the same as going to GER maybe further. So they gotta make me wanna come. I’m all for a day trip to see what’s up but they gotta make me wanna come back

IMO 60 for a rig and driver is fair, but 60 for passengers is a bit much. But they also say 16 and under is free versus 10 or 12 under, or not at all. So if you have kids it could be a wash.

FWIW the landowner(s) are “in this sport/hobby” so my gut tells me they fully understand the frugality of people in this hobby and their plan isn’t to get rich but also need to see some kind of an ROI and opening their land to us isn’t charity.

That’s my polite way of saying people with an average years salary tied up in a tow rig, rig and trailer need to quit being cheap asses and support these private parks and not bitch about price.

I've been hearing that for 20+ years and don't expect it to change.

I will pay what it takes. But for you to assume I only have 12k tied up in my truck, trailer and rig is crazy.. 🤪 couldn’t afford that.

I’m willing to pay good money to wheel but I would like it to be justified. That being said I’m willing to be a test pig. But be ready for a real review

You use the same accountant as I do. Respek

And I’m all for the review. If Vet’s ride wasn’t this weekend I’d have headed there to help burn in some lines and cut trail then come back here with some more insight. From an event logistics perspective I can already tell based on the parking/directions portion of the flyer if they don’t get on site parking figured out this will be a short lived deal. Someone, at some point is going to go full retard on the road to/from and ruin it for everyone.

I get the gripe over the “per person” pricing but after seeing all these relatively cheap $15-25 a day places close because of whatever issue or better business opportunity came up, I’ll gladly spend $60 a day to wheel.

But what about the trout?

Swing by on your way through. I’m only about 5 minutes off I-26. I work at the big ass tank at the I-26/I-81 interchange. I’m in Salem for training until Wednesday though.

This place is only about 15 minutes from me. I’d love to have it in my backyard for shakedown runs and easy day trips. Cobbie sent me a FB invite to a trail cutting party this coming weekend. The buggy is close, but won’t be done by then. I’d like to go try to lend a hand for a while though.
