We're on site in Mountain City. If you're nearby, pack your bags and come on out. If not, stay tuned for updates throughout the weekend.

if listen carefully, you can hear the banjo music in the distance....

Will post updates, as I get them. Still not sure what kind of cell service there is on the course, so it may be in between the races.

Did Black Bear racing team #156 finish?

like braxton said. I was the first to come up on the big blue trail plug. After ~30 seconds of discusion, ew decided I would try and push with fwd to a spot where the rest of us could pass. I scraped thru, and I think lady turtle was behind me.
I think the next lap, 156 was in the same spt, but one lap later I came up on Keith (156 navigator) on foot waving us down, with no rig in sight. I stopped, he asked if he could have a ridxe in back....I said 'no, I don't have a back seat, gotta go". Shortly after that, John was babying it up the trail and pulled over for me. I don't fully understand what happened there, but something about Keith was fixing a battery cable ground, and got the XJ running, maybe John couldnt stop due to the clutch issue, leaving Keith behind.

Less than half the people who started actually finished.

7 started in A-class, 3 finished.

1- Joe Isuzu Darlington
2- yours truly
3- Lisa Mama Turtle
I'm not sure how the DNFers finished, from 4th to last it probably went like this
Dave RatLabGuy 4Runner
John Herr XJ
Brad ZJ
Red painted black XJ

All I have to say is CARNAGE!!

We had a bad weekend race wise, but thanks to all the guys that helped me piece the radiator back in the ZJ before the race, think it was the yota guys from Virginia, thanks again. The ZJ was running strong until we broke our front driveshaft halfway on 1st lap, mannaged to get one lap in but we could not make it back up the hill in 2wd.

Green XJ was wrecked due to driver error, sold it for $200 to a local, its still on the side of the mountain.

Still had a good time dor the most part, dont think enduro is my game:flipoff2:

the locals were driving the XJ around 9pm last night. I didnt get the full story, but it sounded pretty simple...high lift and somehow a snatch block, but I dont think there was a winch involved.

Yea they used a winch. Hooked the winch to the cage on the drivers side, winched it up straight, then 'pushed' (or pulled?) it back on the trail w/ a hi-lift. I wouldn't have wanted to participate in that extraction...

It was funny to see them come rolling up before the awards ceremony though...

there was breakage all over the place. what was up with the tree chopin at the top of pull cable. I couldnt see it too good.

I don't think there was no tree chopping, PJ just decided to pull a tree down over the trail to make it harder for the rest of us, he just wasn't happy with a 2 lap lead :D

Sweet hope they give it as much hell as I did:beer:

They got it off the trail with a high lift and an S10 and drove it back to camp about hour and half after they got back....

hey hey now...only had one lap on me...till...umm er...that tree jumped in the trail late in the game.

Guess they were smarter than us, we had two winches and a snatch block, how exactly did they get it out with the high lift, were they enjoying the new ride:beer:
