TBI is in the future, but it doesn't look to be very soon. So has anyone used the Edelbrock AVS offroad series carb and how did it work? I'm begining to look for an alternative to get my rig up and running. I was thinking of the Holley truck carb, but i'm not really a fan of Holley carbs. Thanks

I run an Edelbrock AVS Thunder series offroad carb on my 401

really havent tested it offroad yet, but it seems to do pretty good

I have a buddy running the Holley Truck Avenger and he loves it too

I have an edelbrock 500 CFM on my motor right now, it has the offroad needle and seat and such. It is a good carb, but on steep inclines i still ahve problems, so now i am going to do FI when i can, after the last flop because of this stupid carb, boy it made me mad :(

i have been using a reman. q-jet 600 cfm set up for off road use on a gm 350 motor in my cj for 3 years w/ great success.got it from a carb shop in ca. for $200 , figured i would do fi later on but 3 years later still w/ the q-jet

For the money you spend on a new carb, you can be 80% there on a TBI setup...

Or closer.

I have seen a few complete GM TBI set ups go for $200 in the last few months...

If you know what you are looking for, you can boneyard a set up for under $100
