EFI OBC mounting

Got a couple of questions for those who have done an EFI upgrade. Where did you mount your OBC? Under dash? In cab? Engine compartment?

Did you use a waterproof mounting box?

Any advise would be helpful. Thanks.

The last 2 I have done, we put the computer in the glove box

I thought about that. I removed the jeep's cardboard glovebox and bought one of those ABS replacement gloveboxes. Its not deep enough for the OBC. :(

At this point, I am thinking of mounting it in the glove box area and leaving out the molded ABS glove compartment. I guess it must be a personal preference, but I was shooting for more of a finished look, so I was wondering if there were alternate mounting places people have used for the OBC so I could use the glove box for small stuff like spare fuses and other junk.

Pros of the glove box area are:
1. High and (not necessarily) dry
2. Easier access
3. Less prone to heat exposure

Cons:
1. Trash the $30 ABS replacement glovebox
2. Looks trashier (to me) to leave the glove box area unfinished.

Other thoughts?

I plan to mount the ECM under th dash as high as possible. Reusing the OEM firewall plug/grommet thingy...

I hope to get all this documented in my EFI swap thread at some point when i get that far along..

Since my '78 was y2k compliant from the factory, I probly need to bore a new hole for the wiring harness/connector.

I am leaving work early today to start the disassembly/labeling process so I can hit it hard tomorrow.
