Anybody else see this? I was almost certain. Anybody else's rigs on here make it in? That green TJ on rocks was pretty sharp, although they called them "2 tons" :shaking:

yea he's pretty well got that under control :)

i'm pretty jealous to be totally honest, hehe

Really SHORT article though...was a bit disapointed about that! Come on Ali, get them journamalistic skills a goin!

Course that maybe all they allowed him...

CarolinaRockshop got a little free advertising though (sticker on a rig in background...)

Sounds like someone is upset they didnt get invited

Honestly it doesn't bother me one bit. Since when did a statement about where rigs are from become a jealousy factor

Is he the least big worried about trashing that $$ ram on a rock?

dang yall are fast to post. i just got my mag yesterday and saw the article but the only jeep i recognized was erik's. whats the deal with the two tj's that were in the article? who are they and what all is done to their rigs.

i was however very dissapointed with how short the article was, but its nice to see a familiar place and a few familiar jeeps in the mag.

there was actually three tjs,the green one,the black one and the gray one

i am not too worried about the grey one, i could tell what the majority of its mods were

Where the heck is cape fear 4x4 located? I tried to find it while i was down there last weekend. I had a problem with my toyota and was trying to get some help with it. Anyways the dodge in the article is sweet. Id like to get a close look at the work under it.

It's almost across the street from the Harley Dealer on Market street.. it's a building behind a building so it's kind of hard to see

I was there during the shoot and saw the WJ I think being drug around on a tow strap?? I was thinking that thing wasnt running 38's on a D30 now was he......

Just wondering why choose Uwharrie as the place for some hardcore east coast action for the mag?

good thing you got new axles erik... otherwise i would bring up a statement about someone with 39.5's on stock axles.. bahaha

Wheres the fullsizes?? And i run 38.5's on stock axles. But i have the d44 9" combo.

green tj on the cover has a 44/60 swap... i want to say front spool open rear but i could be mistaken about the rear. he had a rock krawler (almost positive) long arm kit. that's all i knew of that jeep unfortunatly... other than the fact that it flexed great and went everywhere he wanted it to go.

rockwell'd tj is kelly's. detroits and pinion brakes front and rear, full howe hydro steering setup, twin sticked dana 300, custom long arm/links/dunno the technical names, custom fuel tank, dual batteries, and lots of other goodies....

grey tj was chad's. 4.88 gears, 4 banger, open front and rear on 35's with a RE 4.5 short arm lift and 2" body. as of a week ago he's locked up front and has a limited slip in the rear.

cape fear 4x4 is a D.B.A. of Masonboro Automotive..... 6603 Market Street, Suite 3, Wilmington, NC 28405. 910-397-9131. Located behind Intimate Bliss across from Harley Davidson.

I'm sure Danny and Mike would be happy to show the work done on the dodge.... That truck has lots of blood sweat and tears in it..... and i'm sure Danny would love to build another fullsize truck like that if you were interested.

UF is close to home :)

WJ was towed out by Kelly's rockwell swapped tj after the tailshaft of the tcase broke off.... He is riding on 37" SSR's and will probably have a set of 60's under it sometime this autumn.

The white ram with the two page write-up was with us also.... those two trucks and the waggy were our only fullsizes that weekend.

-Erik <---- wants to go back next month!

Have you been back since the mag. shoot? Kodak has actually eroded in a nice way(seems to be a lot more exposed rock) and became quiet a bit more challenging.... I was supprised.. Daniel, etc. are still 2wd material when dry though..

The 44/60 combo are what were under the rockwelled TJ and it is riding on I think 7" rockkrawler kit if I remember correctly from what the guy said who helped him install it. Also as far as the rockwelled TJ goes he added a lower section to his RE LA crossmember. If I remember correctly and he hasn't redone it since I saw it last, his original RE LA lowers became his uppers and he built his own lowers.

Like I said if you want to see the white Dodge let me know and we'll go by his house. It'll give me an excuse to go see his daughter :huggy:
