Everyone OK in Wilmington?

Here's what my mom e-mailed me this morning.....

"Yes, they are having a bad time at Acme-Delco, Riegelwood. Even the Fire & Rescue Building there was completely destroyed. Hate to think about all those expensive trucks!! Peoples homes completely gone. Don't know if everyone has been located. The school buses had picked up children and arrived safely at school. Think the tornado went thru around 6:30-7 am.

There have been tornado reports from Clarkton and around Lumberton. Nothing serious, I don't think. Hope no more bodies are found."

Everything is fine here, we just got a lot of rain, and a little bit of wind. I think the place that got most of the damage was about 45min up the road from us.

Not even 45 min. Tim. International Paper is only about a 27 mile drive from wilmington. I've been busy w/ the fire dept all day. It was nasty over there. Alot of damaged homes, and cars strung through out the woods. Those of us on New Hanover County USAR were deployed at 8am this morning over there. Fire stations were scrambled throughout covering extra districts and equiptment being sent to other districts as well due to alot of us fire/ems guys going over to aid Brunswick county

:( One of the victims worked in my office. SHe had been there for 10 years. Great woman. Talked to her yesterday at lunch. She will be missed.
