after i had my motor rebuilt, i went to callentee after i broke it in and my exhaust studs fell out cuz the mech didnt tightin them. so i stuck a nut from a bicycle axle on one that still had the stud, and put a make shift bolt in another. anyways, i went to replace the studs, that bolt the bottom of the manifold to the downpipe, today and i can tget one of the studs out. the nut came off, but i cant get the stud out. i tried vice grips with no luck. so now, sinc ei had a hold of with the vice grips, i can get a nut back on it. how can i get this out? i kno i could prob heat it up and get it out, but i dont have access to one. if it can tbe took out easily, how else could i fix the exhaust leak? thanks a ton

A couple of things you might try. Take the manifold off and take it to someone with heat or cut the stud off, drill n tap for whatever bolt you choose. You can also try Mapgas, it gets things heated up good for me. Another thought, a small pipe wrench works better than visegrips. Good luck...

wow ill be honest. i never thought of takin the manifold off. thanks for the input!
