The owner of Carolina Adventure World is going to open up some trails for fullsize offroad jeeps, trucks and buggies. Currently the park only caters to quads and motorcycles, but the owner is thinking bout expanding for fullsize vehicles. This is an open invite to other people or clubs to come down and check out the park. I cannot gaurantee what trails will be ridden or what type of terrain they are, this is going to be new for everyone unless you have been there with quads. So if we get a good turn out the owner is going to possibly try and create new trails for us. From what i heard at my last club meeting is the guys had all equipment to make trails and such, just looknig for volunteers to help do it. So come on out and make a presence, this can only benefit us. Carolian Adventure world is off I77 in South Carolina. below Rock Hill and Charlotte.

This is the website for the place, from what i have heard there is some very good terrain there such as hill climbs and such.

Here is a thread of it on the SC site

So this is open to all kinds of rigs. I am not sure of the price to ride, but a new park is a new park. WE need all we can get.

I have been here riding my Polaris RZR with a group. This is a nice place. Easy to get to and nice facilities. terrain would have great potential to wheel in some full size rigs! I will try to get down for this!

Sounds awesome. When I first heard of that place I was so bummed that they didn't allow fullsize rigs, especially after seeing online what a cool place it appears to be. I hope there's a good turnout and the owners see the potential for an economic boom to the park beyond their expectations. I'll plan to be there on the 28th.

Thanks for the support. Given i have no affiliation to them, i would like to see more parks opening up, i think we all do. I guess they have about 1000 acres that are not even used, so they have plenty of room to cut trails. I am excited. :)

I have been wanting to bring the 426 down there to ride. I've got alot of friends that ride bikes and quads but its good to hear they are considering letting jeeps/trucks in too. I'll see if i can make it.

Don't they have a zip line up in the tree's too?!?!?!?

Carolina adventure world

yes they have a huge zip line, and all kinds of tracks and course, Mountain biking trails, and they are planning on expanding. Some of the trails they have are large enough for bigger rigs now, but they are not challenging trails. They are like connecting paths...

I have been there riding my quads. This is a first class place. When it was first announced I emailed and ask about Jeep trails and was told they were not allowing jeeps and trucks to ride. I mentioned they would probably be eligible for some funding for motorized recreation dollars set aside from the gas tax revenue that is managed by SCPRT. I will plan to be there with both my jeeps to check it out on the 28th. I am guessing the fee will be similiar to the fee for the ATV's.

Just riding the Atv's there I have not seen a lot of rocky areas. There are some areas that could be developed nicely for some challenging trails and obstacles. However, the place is 2600 acres so I am sure I have not seen it all. This could be a great place to develop for Jeeps near Columbia and Charlotte. Last time I was there I mentioned to one of managers (Mr. Phelps I think) that a sporting clay range would be a nice addition. He said they had 150 acres across the road that they would love for someone who knew something about sporting clays to develop a first class club there.

The big thing i have noticed bout the owner, is he has big plans but doesnt want to put $$ into it, but would rather have "volunteers" to do the work. Hey if the guy is game to do something like this i am game to volunteer. He has all the equipment to do all this just no Labor.

Ill be there. As of right now at least.

Guys, I don't think this information is correct see email I received today from Joe Phelps at CAW

Flint:

The is NO scheduled jeep trial here at CAW. We had some initial discussions with a number of groups but have decided to NOT enter that market at this time.

Thanks for your input. Joe Phelps

Let me bring this up with my Club president, as far as we know it is a done deal. At least at this point it is not a "work day" that would be in the future, but let me get back to this matter. We have a club meeting tonight. Thanks for bringing that up, it would be a bit embarrasing to just show up.

Yup the ride is not going to happen. The Mid Carolina Jeepers are gonig riding at Gulches if anyone wants to join us. IT happens and sucks. Sorry to get peoples hopes up :(

translation:

the dirt bike crowd doesnt want to share the trails with fullsize trucks.

Unfortunately yes. The ATV/motocycle crowd has plenty of places to ride, but we get shutout. The arguement is we do so much damag,e but arn't we the ones going slow on the trails. Oh dont get me started :(

Could you explain how this all came to be, then seemed to completely fall apart? Is there anything we can do?

From what i got from our Prsident. He originally talked to the actual owner about getting a jeep run and possibly opening up trails. But somewhere the manager talked to the owner and it got stopped. I really am not positive about the entire goings on, since i wasnt there and am just recieving it from our president. For interprestation of it, it looks like they are not sure about getting full size rigs involved because they are doing quads and cylces and have done real good, so maybe it is a case ofwhy fixx it if it isnt broke. I am not totally sure. The president is still trying to get something happenin there so it is not all dead, but as of now, this event is cancelled :( I can try to get my President to post up so he can put it in his words.

Lets bring this thread back up....

If for example, there were to be a one time truck jeep trial day...to see if the owner would consider a full time truck access.

And if there also happened to be a local say event planned the same day...possibly some time in say February...just for example of course.

How many people would commit to being there and riding if they were given 6 months heads up?

Y'all should come to the beach every once in a while and try out carolina backwoods
