I know its a little early for conditions but...

The first full weekend in Feb I'm headed skiing. Anyone know the conditions of Sugar or Beach Mtn?

My wife and I are headed there for my birthday. We usually ski Sugar as its closer and still fairly decent.

Sugar was in great shape last weekend. If the weather stays cold, I would think it would be fine.

Sugar was good saturday, it was powdery in the beginning then got a little slushy after noon. but the top was icy most of the day. Every church on the east coast was there. It was nice though, lift lines just got real long.

Should be pretty good... most places have a super thick base right now.

Haven't skied in NC in like 3 years, so I'm going to have to get used to the crowds. I've been way too spoiled by the skiing out west that I cringe every time I think of going skiing in NC. But, its cheap (relative) and keeps me in shape for my next trips out west or up to Sugarloaf.

Check out the forums over there - look under trip reports - you can get up to date info. The SkiNC folks will be hitting up Beech in late Feb. SkiNC board members are getting 30.00 (1/2 price) lift tickets on the Sat. of the event. You do have to be a registered member - registration is free.
