I have had this MJ for over 20 years. It started with a 2.5 auto 4x4. I swapped it out with a 1994 XJ 4.0 AW4 Np231 about 19 years ago. I mostly just worked on it back then and didn't wheel it. I'll post all the pics I can find of it from back then.

Plan for this week is to put some heat shielding around fuel lines, hood spacer, install switch and relay for the electric fan and test CPS due to cutting off when hot. Also going to turbo can rust-oleum paint it. We are taking it to the MB Jeep Jam for my wife's birthday and she is ashamed to ride in it with the green doors

I bet that 94 swap was fun.
Yes, I had a thread on here or Comanche club. The worst part was the header panel was wrong and I had to cut the one out of the XJ and move it to the MJ with little to no tools or knowledge of what I was doing

Yes I've read that there were firewall changes in 87 and the header was different. I had an 84 XJ originally and after researching the swap I bought a 94 with no axles and went that route instead. LOL!

My firewall was not an issue but I also heard that when I researching it.

I've seen this thing a dozen times and never noticed that the doors didn't match. She needs to adjust her expectations! :D

I used to have a green door only on the drivers side and black on the passenger. I just put these on a couple weeks ago the old doors had bad regulators and the vent windows leaked bad so I put 97 doors with power windows on it.

She has low expectations, she married me

Here is what those vent windows did to my floor after seating 10 years in my yard,

Looks like you got the track bar and drag link angle dialed in pretty good after the turning radius issues.

A MJ on tons just looks badass! A few weeks back I was driving here local and passed a bright yellow one on what looked like SD axles and 40”+ tires being towed on a trailer. I don’t know if it belonged to someone local or if they had just gotten off I-26 to get fuel. It was super clean and looked like a new build. I haven’t seen it again since then.

Yes I got it close as I could without redoing everything. Thanks for your input on that, you helped a lot.

The exhaust cooks the paint there, if you can get a piece of shielding there it’ll go a long way
IIRC the exhaust is behind the cross member and there is nothing but a pipe there. Its after that the exhaust cooks the rear floor in an xj. the muffler and cat are there. I've seen a lot of driver floors eaten out from the master leaking too.

The hole he has is directly over the exhaust pipe, the spot you refer to is also a trouble area but has a factory heat shield, this area did not. Mine had the same problem when I had one
