How's the process go when you dispute charges on your debit card through visa?

I had a 60 day limit to dispute some charges. After 59 days of getting nowhere with the dealer and distributor in the situation with my wife's wheels, I went to the bank and disputed the charges.

Cliffs on the background...
Ordered wheels that I was told would be correct for wifes car. Was told they'd arrive in 7 business days.
After 6 1/2 weeks, wheels came in and were wrong bolt pattern.
Company doesn't make proper bolt pattern for my car.
Chose 2 other sets of wheels, was told neither was made for my car. When in fact they are.
Getting run-around now, dealer avoiding contact.

Just curious on how this might play out.

I've done the same thing before. Ironaclly w/ a set of wheels I ordered. Just do your paperwork and you will get your money back. Visa will give it back to you and take it fro them.

To add to the story, I ordered tires too, which came in and have been sitting in his shop for 2 months. I never received them, and they are usless without the wheels, so I disputed that charge too. He had made the comment to me one day that they wouldn't want to take the tires back since they'd been in his shop for so long, but the way I see it, that's not my problem.

Hopefuly visa will see it that way too.

as far as you are concerned, there is no difference between "dealer" and"distributor". The dealer is, as far as you (and Visa) are oncerned, responsible for the sale. If distributor messes up, which they have, too bad for him, he is the one that takes the hit. Visa will be on your side.
Inshort, they will refund your money now - then they will take it up with him.

It depends if you ran it as a debit pin based transaction you may feel some pain. If you ran it as a credit signature transaction file the papers sign the dotted line and wait 7 days and you will ahve all your money/

That's what I'm hoping.

Wasn't pin based, was actually over the phone.
