So I've got a question. I've got a 96 zj flexplate and a 94 torque converter i need to mate. The converter has bolt holes that are at 90 and then one that is at 88* The flex plate has them all at 90*. Can I use my drill press to make the one hole slightly larger to accept the bolt? I reckon it'd be fine since the other three will be the right size and they'll all be tightened up and thread locked.

Yes, the bolt holes do the clamping. The center of both is where the mating alignment occurs. Typically a precision hole in the flex plate and a precision protrusion on the converter.
