Purchased a little 2wd 2.5L 5spd S10 for $600 because it "wouldn't move". Got her home, found the previous owner forgot to bolt the transmission back to the motor when they put a new clutch in . Got her all fixed up and drove the beater to work for a few months. I've had the itch to build something for the last few years since I got rid of my XJ. Decided I was gonna 350/SAS swap it and leave it mild but streetable. I didn't take a ton of pictures through the SAS process, but I do have a few. I got pretty close to finishing it, and decided I wanted to just build a whole new frame and go truggy. Which worked out great because I was supposed to help a friend who wants to SAS a sonoma. He inherited my frame, and now I'm here, with nothing but a cab and the rest of the crap for sale, starting over again. Onto the pictures
Out with the 2.5 -
The replacement -
IFS and rear axle out (go ahead and knock me for the cinder blocks, but no one was underneath of the vehicle when it was on them) -
Sterling in -
Getting the 44 under it -
I wanted to run full size springs for some stupid reason so I made it work -
Stuffing a 350 into an s10 isn't very fun, especially with a Muncie -
How it sat...
How it sits now, waiting on the bender -
How it sat as a whole:
1988 Chevy S10
350 - SM465 - NP205
Dana 44 /open
Sterling 10.25 /welded
Dry rotted 35's to roll around on
15 gal fuel cell,
s10 v8 conversion radiator in bed
Plans:
88 Chevy S10 cab
Tube chassis
350 - SM465 - NP205
rocks, linked F/R
propane
44-46's
