I have a mostly all new steering system with hydro assist. Driiled and tapped box, that was cleaned/flushed well. New cooler and resivior. Rebuilt pump. All cleaned well before assembly. Any tips/tricks to flushing system before real fill? TIA

Pull the return line off and let it pump itself out as you turn back and forth with the wheels jacked up. Shut it down as soon as it slows down. Fill and repeat.

Get a large inline fuel filter and put it on the return line and rotate the steering a dozen times or so and then remove the filter.

X2 on the jacking the wheels and you need jack stands in a place where they won’t block the tires from turning lock to lock. There are cheap filters called magnafine that have a powerful magnet and 100 micron filter for hydraulics put in the return line
