Ok my friend has a blackYJ that is currently getting a stroker...my ? is he is on stock axle w/ a 35 rear :poop: but he was wanting to go 38"s he has a RE 2.5 inch SUA w/ a 1" shackel...would yall recommend him swapping out to an 8.8 and just go smaller tires or how expensive would it be to go full width? i was thinking a D60 rear and 44 front could he run 38" with fender trimming and that lift or should he do a spring over and how much could this cost? Any suggestions would be great.

38's start to push a D44 unless you run aftermarket axles and ujoints. A lot depends on driving style and what the truck is used for, and if it will have lockers etc... 14Bolt rears are cheaper usually than the rear 60's and STRONG. It will need more lift to clear the 38's. When you go spring over(SOA) you need to address driveshaft and slipyoke elim., along with a traction bar to controll rear axle-wrap. The SOA performs good and you can always run cherokee leafs in the rear to gain some wheel base and wheel travel.

your also gonna need a traction (anti wrap) bar with a soa. soa plus those springs are gonna be enough lift. i would def. extend the wheelbase with the cherokee leafs
