How difficult is it to put a Ford 205 behind a GM TH-350?

currently have a gm205 behind the 350, but potentially thinking of a couple different moving parts between a couple rigs. Need to get a ford 205 behind a chevy 350 to replace a chevy 205.

advance adapters has a "kit" for $563

I know the gm 205 is not the round 6 bolt pattern. but the ford 205 is.

my thoughts, are to put the 27 spline input gear and bearing into the ford 205. The ford 31 spline input appeasrs to have a different bearing ID than the chevy 27 spline, So potentially could use the chevy 27 spline input and bearing into the ford 205 case.

a new 27spline input is $155

then could use the factory chevy 27-27 spline coupling shaft out of the factory 350-205 adapter.

also thinking of using a 350-208 or 350-241 adapter to get from the th350 4 bolt pattern to the 6 bolt round pattern needed for the ford 205 case.

The issues i forsee is a length problem using the coupler shaft with a different adapter housing as well as potential diameter issue,as i believe the 205 adapter has a bearing inside to support the coupler, but i honestly dont remember from the last time we had it apart...

that length issue may be solved or worsened by the use of a clocking ring for the 205

also the clocking ring could be an issue with the ford shift rail location?

Thanks in advance for the help, and if anyone has an info or know of a ford 205 case for sale, feel free to send me a link.

I'm by no means local to ya, but I've got several Ford 205s sitting around. I can loan you one, sell you one or pull measurements.

Using one of these you could make then whatever length you want:

Bonus is that you can fine tune the clocking angle too.

I'm not sure the 27sp GM input will fit in the 31sp case, IIRC there was a big and small input case bore, with the 32sp GM and 31sp Ford being big and 10sp GM and 27sp GM being small.

I'm 95% sure that the "big input bearing " 205 were 32 spline chevy, 31 spline ford and 29 spline dodge, everything else was small bearing. This doesn't apply to divorced ford, dodge, or IH cases. Just look up the input bearing part #s and id/od.
