Ford 8.8 drum to disc conversion?

Traded for a 31 spline Explorer 8.8 that's got drums. Is there a cheap and easy way to convert to disc brakes? I've googled it and there are all kinds of companies that want anywhere from $300 to $600 for a conversion kit. If not, I'll be putting it up for sale, be good spare shafts for someone.
