I am lifting a '78 F-150. i am buying the front coil springs new, but the rear leafs are pretty expensive brand new. to try and save some money i have been looking for 10"-12" leaf springs online but there is certainly more chevy springs than ford out there. Soo, my question is; is there any major differences between chevy and ford springs that i need to know about if i want to hang chevy springs on a ford chassis? i figure i may need to move or do something with the shackle mounts but that's no big deal. has anyone ever done this before? any advice would greatly appreciated.

Funny, being an extensive Ford collecter dude... I have 2.5" hangers for sale that are offset to match the 3" 4wd hangers for a Ford axle with no axle perch mods. These can be found from 73-79 F-100 1/2 ton 2wd. PM if interested.

You'd need to redrill the center pin and move it closer to the front to stop axle wrap. But that's not very hard to do especially if you have a press. I have a front spring setup that I redrilled a set of rear leaves for better flex.
