Is a 1984 8.8 Bronco rear the same as a 1990 8.8 Bronco rear?

Minus gearing, etc.

yes ford 9" is much better imho. stronger and better aftermarket suppor. also can be had fairly cheap.

if your going to swap why not find a 10.25 out of an f250? you'll probably find one with better gearing and a cheaper price.

Thanks for all the info., but this is my son's truck and he still in High School and he only wheels on the blacktop or once a year at the beach.
