Got a spare C6 here that I'm looking to have freshened up and upgraded. I'll install it sometime down the road.
What I'm looking for a someone specifically well versed in them who understands about integrading E4OD planetaries, a manual vlave body, etc. Something more than simply the corner transmission shop offers.
Any leads in the western part of NC/ upstate SC area?

North Knoxville but John at Superior Performance is the man. Hes done numerous trans for us including both buggies, my old 7.3 truck, and my dually 7.3 going his way this fall. Plus the endless list of other buggy and truck transmissions hes done over the years. Stand up guy.

I second that.
John is a great dude and has done a few builds for me. Including the one that's in my rig.

Funny how hard it is to find someone who wants to take your money...
Called, emailed, left messages with all the shops above who have a great reputation with Ford transmissions. Kept getting put off, no return calls, emails, etc.
Called Cook's, who I have always understood to be GM specialists, and they said "yup, drop it off anytime".
Guess I'll make a drive to Spartanburg, drop it off and eat at The Beacon.

For sure! Literally had the same issue. Kinda still am. No one wants to bench build anything anymore. Im assuming they wanna test drive them. The shop who now has mine is acting like a body shop, hurry up bring it in then ignore you. Paid half up front too

That's the main reason I was willing to ship to and from Fritt's. They have a transmission dyno on site.
But I have learned over the years if the initial exchange is less than what you desire, the rest of the process will be as well.
