Need a little help. I've got an 89 ranger with a 5.0, c6, and an NP 205 transfer case with 39.5 boggers. Ive got 4.88 gears but the problem that i have is my transfer case is killing my gearing. The aluminum New Process wont fit between the ranger frame rails so i was forced to run the 205. Any advice on a swap, other then an Atlas? Thanks

Space the engine and transmission off to the passenger side a little bit, and do a small notch on the bottom of the driverside frame rail, and the 208 can be made to fit.

More power, a 203/205 doubler, or an ORD Magnum Box. All of these options are easy and require very little fabrication, but may not be cheap.

another alternative for a little more gearing would be swapping the planetary in your c6 with either a low gear setup-see TCI, about $600-700 or swapping in an E40d planetary, both will give you a 2.72 first gear versus stock 2.46 gearing, it may not get you all the way there, but it is an alternative

I think I'm going to look into the d300 or the bronco d20. I would like to try the 203 range box but I was having problems finding one. I used to run the c4, bw1350 but the c4 just keep giving me problems plus the c6, np205 combo is 4 inches shorter. Thanks for the help and anymore advice would be great.
