I found a camera BAG @ URE on 8-10-08 in the mud pit on Falls lake trail. If you lost this pm me or call my cell 910-528-5699 and tell me what was in it and I will send it back to you. I'm sorry for not posting sooner, but it was covered in mud and laying in the back of my runner for the week.
Richard

Come on folks, ask your friends. The owner may not even be on this forum. I would realy like to get this back to the rightful owner.
Thanks, Richard

Yes I did (today duh). I really didn't think there was anything in the bag (top open full of mud), but after falling in the mud (covered head to toe) I was not going to just leave it there. I really want to get it back to its rightful owner.

So im guessing the camera and everything is still in it. You know craigslist is a good source for lost or stolen merch as well. Not saying its stolen, I have just seen threads where people try to recover their property through want ads or for sale adds.

I didn't think of craigslist, I'll check that out. My problem is I don't have a clue how long this was in the mud. One of our guys churned it up when he got stuck.

Does it even work anymore. Might not be worth yours or the other persons time unless there are some other valuables. you dont have to go into detail, but if i know mud, it pretty much ruins anything

Yeah what I thought was sentimental value for the other stuff. In reality it may not be of any value. I just wanted to try.

Did you check with eldorado outpost?? If I lost something, and thought there was a chance of somebody turning it in....I'd probably check in there before the rangers office.

If I lost something, in hopes somebody turned it in, I'd probably check, in this order...Eldorado, Janet, Rangers HQ. And NC4x4, of course.

Well I kinda went backwards, NC4x4 then the rangers station. Dumb question, but whos Janet? I'll try to call the Outpost and Mountain Market today.
Richard

Janet is the Host at the Arrowhead Campgrounds, along with doing many other things around the National Forest. Talked to her a little bit yesterday actually while up there for the Labor Day weekend run, she or the outpost would be first options to check if you lost something yes. If you get them involved it may help find who lost it.

FOUND THE OWNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spoke to him today, and he was able to identify what was in the bag. Melinda at the Outpost remembered someone loosing a bag and was able to find his contact info for me. Will be on UPS monday to him. Now for what was so valuable.... an Ipod that did not work, usb cables and a couple of memory chips for a camera with.... his son's birthday photos on it. I know that these are irreplacable ( would be to me). So I feel that this was all worth it, mudbath and all.
For those that pointed me in the right direction, THANK YOU.
Richard

Way to go the Extra Mile Richard, you're efforts will be truly appreciated I'm sure....

Good Job!

Note he "checked" the pics hoping for bewbie shots though...

I didn't have a clue when I checked, thank you very much (lol). As far as karma, I think it bit me in the butt. Both my garbage disposal and fridge in the house went on the blink this weekend. Fridge is about 9 years old Kenmore side by side. Had to move (drink) some beer out of the fridge in the garage to make way for food. Oh well at least the beer is cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
