Looks like my '73 CJ5 has a twisted frame. It is tweaked some on both sides around the area of the front body mounts. I can see it pretty good when standing at the front of the frame and looking down the rails. Seems to have affected the front portion from the front most body mounts and forward.
I will be undertaking the attempt at frame repair and would love to get some tips and see pictures of ones that anyone has done, whether it was repair, extention, or shortening.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone have a CJ5 frame in good cond. at reasonable price? LOL :)

We do frame repairs, mods, stretches, sectioning, etc on a regular basis -

And no offense intended - if you are asking on a BBS for how to DIY, frame repair is not really the job for you to undertake.

somewhere in the early run of gthe CJs there was a very defined dog leg righ before the front body mounts, this isnt what you are seeing is it?

If the frame is tweaked enough to be visible with the naked eye, you should have trouble keeping it in the road

frame problem

What I am seeing does appear to be on the frame in the area of the front body mount. Anyone have more info or pics of this area that I can compare to mine.

I recieved the CJ when it wouldnt run and was not roadworthy so I have no idea how it drove.

Thanks

My 85 split inside of the body mount, in other words, the body mount is what kept it together. Patched it all the way around, then thrashed it again. So far so good.
