Friends Of Uwharrie Now Officially 501(c)(3)

Friends Of Uwharrie is now officially a Federal 501(c)(3) with an effective date of exemption of November 7, 2012!

FOU is designated as a public charity, 170(b) (1) (A) (vi). As such, FOU is exempt from Federal income tax and and contributions to FOU are deductible under section 170 if the IRS code. FOU is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises transfers and gifts.

Thank you for your support of FOU as we continue to be your advocate for outdoor recreation in Uwharrie National Forest!

How long did this take start to finish? We have been working on ours for a year or better. Last I heard was they hadn't even started the 2013 paper work.
