Hey all i have been mia for a while here. i started a new project about a 2 weeks ago using a 89 fullsize bronco 351W,C6 3speed and bw1356 tcase so far what i have i the rear rockwell is bolted in using a set of skyjacker lifts springs from a 8" lift kit the srping orginally gave me about 7" of lift. The front is going to be running a set of leafs out of a mid 80's chevy blazer, using the blazers rear shackle, flipped on the front of my bronco. i will have pics coming soon with a whole write up on what i have done and plan on doing..I have a set of 39 boggers on 15" wheels, looking for bigger tires and beadlocks. full hyrdo steering , detroits F/R and shaved pumkins. i figure i would give you guys a heads up on whats going on here is the south this how she looked b4 the rockwells took over....ill have pics tomorrow

I got most of the sus. works done, i still need to put on some front shocks and weld the rear shocks mounts up. i have the rear drive shaft already with 1330joint on the tcase end with out the CV joint and 1410 joint on the rockwell end. i only have one pinion brake right now, ill soon order another. i moved the hydro ram for the steering to the front of the axle and welded on a tab to the rockwells steering knuckle, i had to heat the knuckle to 500* in order to weld on that cast metal..that was a pita. im still lacking one hydro line coming from the pump to the ortial valve, i have a hard time finding the right style fitting for the pump on the pressure port to go to the pressure port on the valve which is a 8n hydro tread any ideas?

That engine crossmember is going to tear.

Man, you aint skeered of that tab ripping off of your knuckle? I know why you put it there but seems like it wont live long like that......looks good though.

bronco looks good though.

Are you guys fawking high? The fab work is.... not good. The nicest thing I can say about it is that the engine crossmember is going to tear.

Hopefully he'll fix some of the shoddy work before he tries to take it out on a public road.

It doesn't even look like he tried.
no problem
i just wish people would give someone some suggestions rather than put down what they are trying to learn all by themselves. i would but personally i know nothing about the axles that are going in his bronco. happy new year.

yeah the 720 is scraped..i was working on it, doing a motor swap..351W c6 205in it. but i didint want to work on it for the next year. i had my bronco just sitting..so i didnt want to see my baby just rot in front of my eyes so i gave it a lil rockwell lovn' i had fun with 720 and i plan rebuilding it with a set of chevy axles and a V6..but that later on down the road..right now im building the bronco and the transmission in my dodge CTD to handle the 200hp power diff. from stock eh! and thats not cheap..

Dude...
Saf-T is the wrong cat to be calling out on here.

Anyway, if you start posting pix of your build, but can't handle the criticism -- YOU SHOULDN'T POST PICS.

i'm far from an expert fabricator, but i REALLY hope you aren't finished with it. you've got alot of work left to make those mounts, etc. strong enough to hold up to any abuse.

the scary thing is, in your defense of this abortion you haven't mentioned that you plan to do anything further to strengthen things.

though not quite as critical, safety has it's place on the trail also. i'd hate to see someone hurt/killed when a rockwell comes down a hill.

like Joel said, you posted the pics on a forum viewable to everyone. i'm sorry you're not getting people falling all over themselves about how great your truck is.

I guess I'll ask some constructive questions instead of looking to bash...

Do you plan to scrap the engine x-member and build something beefy? That current one appears that it won't hold up on the trail with that chunk out of it.
Are you planning to strengthen those shackles, as they look like they might fold from the weight of those 2.5 tons?

Being a bronco guy, I love that someone is tackling a rockwell/fullsize bronco build. It's not something I have the balls or funds to undertake. I hope it works out for you.

Thats a rowdy ass bronco....

i plan on beefing up that engine xmember...i just cut the lest amount out to make the chunk fit. i only cout out the front side of the xmember the rest of it is in tack. i have done a sas on a f150 b4 and i did a whole new xmember there that worked out well.. the front hanger have been supported, and i mean very well..ill post pics soon. the shackle are getting upgrade to f250 shackles. very close in design but stronger. i def. need some anti wrap bars. i have really havent romp on it hard but it has wrap front and rearthe hydro steering working out well 2.5 turns lock to lock. i still have the bump stops in the kunckles. so i dont catch the leafs with the tires. oh yeha BUMP stops!@

update....front spring hangers now are supported i got my front pinion brake just havent installed it yet. some painting do. new sticker on tailgate.
