i need to get a sevice manual for my dually. (or atleast the transfer case section out of it) it's an '01 Chevrolet with a 6.0/4L60E

Recently had the transfer case take a dump on me on the trip back from Tellico, and before i spend the cash on a rebuilt one/used one, i'm gonna attempt to rebuild it myself, if i screw it up, i'm not out anything, as it can still be put towards a core charge on a replacement.

I had a friend xerox a copy of what i needed out of it, then fax it too me, and it truned out about as clear as muddy water. So, anybody know of a good source (online or otherwise) to get what i need?

thanks

P.S. a quick glance over on e-gay left me empty-handed.

Have you tried dieselplace.com yet? Alot of those guys aren't too mechanically inclined so they might tell you it's impossible...but there are some that know their stuff and also a few gm techs.

NP241? 271?

I've got the FSM for my Dodge, which has the 241/241HD

braxton, thanks for the link, not only did that provide me with the manuals:
http://www.helminc.com

but also, have found out that my problem is a common problem among the later model Chevy's:
http://www.thedieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37492

http://www.thedieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15297&highlight=leaking+transfer+case

it deals with an anti-rattle clip "that may be" improperly installed at the factory, breaks, and in time allows the pump to wear a hole in the case housing, relieving itself of all of its fluid.

thanks again for the link:beer:

yes, they didn't bother actually looking to see what the problem was...even though this seems to be a fairly common trend with these trucks. i have called that dealer and expressed my heart felt feelings towards them and their sevice department.

but on the plus side, i didn't have to buy the $3000+ transmission they were trying to sell.
