is it possible to weld your own fuel cell? and how would you go about doing it?

no I can't. I have heard there is a way you can make it out of steel then coat the inside? just looking to see if anyone has seen this or have done it and have pictures

I'm sure you could use steel, Use a bladder. Google "fuel cell bladder" and you can find everything you need. Fuelsafe makes a very good product.

buy a 12 gal cell from summit $109 and save yourself a lot of trouble. you'll have that much in a homebuilt cell . every alum cell I have seen has split at a seam or cracked. seriously just buy a poly cell and be done with it.

so does the 109 dollar one come with everything you need do you just connect the lines or do you need a sending unit?

I've made 3 out of aluminum, none of them have leaked that I know of, I know mine didn't for as long as I ran it in my truck (still in the truck). Can't bolt a fuel cell down (with tabs), you gotta hold it down with a strap of some sort. Although I might make mine for my buggy, IF you have no space restrictions, I'd just buy one already made (plastic, aluminum, whatever).
